4 charged with drug trafficking

A FOURTH man was hauled to court on Friday for trafficking in 64 packets of heroin.

Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahim, 48, allegedly trafficked in about 468.58 g of heroin with Abdul Faisal Mohammad, 33, Abu Bakar Mohamed Taib, 38 and Fera, 26, an Indonesian woman, in a car at the carpark outside Subordinate Courts on Wednesday.

The other three have been charged. All four, who face the death penalty if convicted, were remanded until Thursday.

Meanwhile, two Malaysian men were charged with importing heroin into Singapore at Woodlands checkpoint on Thursday.

Faizul Kiron, 21, and Azhar Abdul Rahman, 28, are accused of importing 96 small packets of granular substance weighing almost 700g at about 2.10pm that day.

They were remanded and will appear in court on Friday.

If convicted, the duo too face the mandatory death penalty.
