NEW DELHI - US SPECIAL envoy Richard Holbrooke left for Washington after talks with Indian leaders on Monday on the global threat from Pakistan-based militants, the US embassy said.
'Ambassador Holbrooke has left for home after his talks here,' an embassy spokesman told AFP, after a regional tour that included visits to Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Following talks with leadership in the Indian capital, Mr Holbrooke told reporters that New Delhi, Washington and Islamabad faced a common threat from Islamist militants.
'For the first time in 60 years since independence, your country, Pakistan and the US all face an enemy that poses a direct threat to our leadership, our capitals and our people,' Mr Holbrooke said before leaving. -- AFP
